Description
Firewire Glazer LFT Surfboard by Rob Machado
Words by Rob:
I like to think of the guy at the Donut store that glazes the donuts. Pretty important dude. Kinda makes or breaks a donut.
He’s the GLAZER. And then you have my number one test pilot – TODD GLASER. He’s been riding this board for close to a decade. We’ve been modifying and tweaking it for years.
A little bit of width here… a touch of thickness there… back and forth until we finally agreed that it was ready. Very round and sleek curves. Gentle rockers. Easy to ride for all levels and easy to ride in all types of waves.

How to size your GLAZER and why:
Rob’s 5’2 has 27.6 liters. That’s three liters more than his ‘normal shortboard’ and one liter more than his Seaside (he rides a 5’2 in that shape as well). So if you are caught between GLAZER sizes, choose the higher volume size. Because the GLAZER shape hides float in both its thickness, and it’s width in the front, while keeping a very narrow tail. This lets you volume up, without losing control in good waves. It’s the reason why the GLAZER grovels at Seaside just as well as it rides the barrel at Surf Ranch.
About LFT (Linear Flex Technology):
LFT incorporates Firewire’s SPRINGER HD, a 0.75” (18 mm) wide aerospace composite that runs down the centerline of the board, representing the next generation in our SPRINGER technology.
The SPRINGER HD runs the entire length of the board and plays a pivotal role in optimizing flex from nose to tail.
